We desire; in order to be truly alive we desire. We desire what we see; we desire what we imagine we see. It changes us, desire - metaphorically and literally. When the desire becomes strong enough, we will go to the end of the world and back in order to achieve it. We will stop at nothing in order to gain the object our our desires until it utterly and ultimately transforms us. Desire, is red; and courses through our veins in order to give us meaning. Red like blood. 

But what happens when the passion runs dry? What happens when even the last dying flame has been put out? Desire still lives; it lives as it had once defined us. Even in death our desire reaches out and beckons for one last song. 

We are not alive until we desire; when we have passed, our desire and what we have done to achieve that which we desire becomes our momento mori.
